The condition that caused the egg to come out within another egg inside of it is called a counter-peristalsis contraction, and it’s well-known by biologists but apparently pretty rare. The appearance of the second egg occurs when a second oocyte is released by the hen’s ovary before the first egg has finished traveling through her system. Unfortunately it means that the egg comes out pretty large. Ouch for Wendy. Let’s give her a day off.
