Girl Assaulted for the Second Time by the Same Five Men

Infuriating doesn’t even begin to describe this

If you’re reading this and you happen to be a white male, congratulations. You’ve won a lottery that has been around for, oh, around 200,000 years. Your prize? Privilege and a virtual “get out of anything” card.

Women and minorities have been fighting for the same rights as our western/european counterparts for hundreds of years, and while we have come a long way, we have an extremely long way to go. Unfortunately, in America, if the horrible excuse for a man we call Donald Trump wins the election, we might retreat in rights for four years, and, who knows, a girl might get raped without almost no consequence to the perpetrator…oh wait. That already happened.

Five men have sexually assaulted a woman for the second time in Rotak, India and are facing mild to no punishment for their actions.

An Indian judge will consider the sentences for four men found guilty of the brutal gang rape and murder of an Indian student on a bus, as the victim's family leads calls for them to be hanged. Violence against women is getting noticed, but not stopping.

Back in 2013, A Dalit student was assaulted, drugged, and gang-raped by five men in her home town of Bhiwani, India. The girl and her family went to the authorities but the accused allegedly threatened the survivor’s family, and forced them to move to Rohtak.

Dalits are members of society, previously known as “untouchables,” that are “people tainted by their birth into a caste system that deems them impure or less than human.”

Three Years Later

On Wednesday, the girl, who is pursuing a master’s degree from Rohtak’s MD University, was walking back from her class when the boys targeted her a second time as punishment for accusing them of their rape in years past. All of the boys were former students of the same university. Only two men were arrested in the first assault and they both were let out on bail.
