History is being made.
For years, there have been petitions to try and replace our currency with different faces, and it looks like those wishes are finally being fulfilled by the government. According to reports, Andrew Jackson will no longer be the face of the $20 bill, as he has been for many decades.
Harriet Tubman will now be the face of the $20 bill, which was announced by The Treasury Department, who also revealed that Alexander Hamilton will remain the face of the $10 bill. There are also a few changes that will be made to other bills, which will be unveiled in the year 2020.

The bill design will be unveiled in 2020.
While Alexander Hamilton is set to stay on the $10 bill, the $5 bill, the $10 bill, and the $20 bill will all have brand new designs by 2020, but won’t be in circulation until some undisclosed time after. Reports say that the new bills will also have tactile changes that will be of help to the blind, which is why the new designs will take some time.
The Bureau of Engraving and Printing are coordinating with the Federal Reserve for the process.
The two departments are coming to an agreement about what they need to accomplish and keep in mind for the process behind the bills. “We can’t compromise security and we have to work as quickly as possible,” Secretary Lew revealed.
