Officers Make Father-Daughter Dance Special in Absence of Fallen Colleague

The officers of Pierce Sheriff’s Department stood in when it was needed most on September 20, when the daughter of their fallen colleague was getting married. When it was time for the traditional father-daughter dance, a dance Kirsten Mundell may have believed wouldn’t happen, her father’s former colleagues stood in line and danced with the bride.

Deputy Sheriff Walter Kent Mundell Jr, Kirsten’s father, was killed six years ago when responding to a domestic violence call.

The emotional moments were captured by wedding photographer Angela Lyons who posted the weddings on Facebook saying they “needed their own album.” The photos have since been shared 6,649 times on Facebook.
