Stop messing with my mind!

For me, school was more about memorization rather than critical thinking. Names, dates, formulas, and the like were crammed into my head even though most of them were intangible to my self-centered teenage mind. Sure Columbus sailed the ocean blue over two hundred years ago, but what does that much time feel like? Millions were killed in the Holocaust, but it sadly becomes more about numbers than individuals. And space is so vast, we can’t comprehend most of it.

To put the universe into perspective, smart and educated Redditors explain history and science in ways we can grasp with our puny minds.
