Fly Like Marty McFly In Your Very Own DeLorean.
On October 21, 2015, at 7:28 AM, Marty McFly, Jennifer Parker, and Doc Brown arrived in the future in Back to the Future Part II.
The 1989 movie is famous for its wild predictions about 2015 — some of which have come true. The Back to the Future series has been a cult classic since the movies were released, but never more so than now, 30 years later and on what fans are now calling “Back to the Future Day.”
Naturally, tons of companies are celebrating the special day adequately. Pepsi has released a limited edition “Pepsi Perfect,” Nike is still working on those self-tying shoes, and one company is bring you your very own DeLorean.
Lyft is a car service app much like Uber, but it’s going to make a heck of a name for itself this week after teaming with Verizon to bring you a Back to the Future Day to remember. As a part of Verizon’s #WhyNotWednesday series, in which the company delivers something new and ridiculous each week, Lyft is going to have special Back to the Future-inspired DeLoreans serving as taxis for one day only.
Imagine how sweet you’d look walking out of your apartment as an awesomely ’80s DeLorean pulls up to take you to work or out at night. That’s something your friends would be talking about for years.
The catch? Lyft’s DeLorean service will only be available in New York City, and unfortunately, there won’t be any time travel involved. Check out the video promo below and SHARE with your BTTF-loving friends!
Make it a “Back to the Future Day” to remember.
