Free The Nip!!
For hundreds upon hundreds of years, our patriarchal society has banned women from showing any part of their breasts in public. In the past 100 years or so, we have hyper-sexualized breasts transforming their primary function into entertainment for men. Any health class or text book will enlighten you that boobs actually do have a different purpose (feeding babies). With so many human rights movements starting to gain momentum, it’s ridiculous to think that while men can freely bare their chests in public and on social medias, one glimpse of a woman’s areola will get her removed from Instagram all together.
This inequality in men and women’s ability to bare their chests has spurred the #FreeTheNipple campaign, named after Lina Esco’s 2014 film Free the Nipple. It argues that “women and men should be granted the same freedom, and protection, under the law” and aims to expose sexual objectification.
The latest celebrity to join this movement is the lovely Kendall Jenner and she is literally the perfect face for the campaign.
We can’t get enough of Kendall’s confident look!
If we had a set as great as hers, we’d be doing the same…
