Back in grade school you could turn to the person sitting next to you and say, “Hi! Wanna be friends?!” and that was that. But making friends as an adult is a lot harder: we’re busy, self-involved and stressed out. Sometimes it’s even hard for us to maintain the friends we already have. But haivng one more friend in you phone doesn’t cost a thing and can only be beneficial.
Everyone wants to be liked. Even if you don’t give af about most things in life, you probably still want a few friends or a mate around. Or maybe you are the opposite and are a social butterfly and you want to collect as many friends, acquaintances and business contacts as possible. First and Foremost
When you meet someone new, consciously be aware of a couple of things: remember their name and eye color. Be sure to smile and look them in the eye a second or two longer than you normally would.
What’s in a name?
When approaching a stranger in a social or work environment, refer to them by their name immediately. People like when other remember their name: it shows you are listening and intrigued by them. Establishing a good rapport and getting them to trust you off the bat will create new friendships easily.
