You may be familiar with Spider-Man already, but did you know that Spider-Man was a role undertaken by multiple people in the comic series? One of those people was an embattled young man named Miles Morales. He came about around the time when Barack Obama was becoming president; the creators of his character actually drew inspiration from Obama. As the Spider-Man films get (yet another) reboot, fans are wondering and hoping that Miles will make the cut.

Misty Knight

This powerful black female character first appeared in the 1970s. She’s a take-no-prisoners kind of woman with one bionic arm that gives her superhuman strength. Her strong disposition has landed her a role in the upcoming series for another black superhero. And I love her awesome action figure!

Luke Cage will have his very own show on Netflix premiering in September of this year. Luke is a wrongly-accused, ex-con with unbreakable flesh, who now fights crime alongside other characters like Misty Knight. Initially, the actors thought the show might be too much like the blaxploitation films of the 70s, but the show will instead be modern and multidimensional.
