Because masculinity is so f***ing fragile
“Real Men Color”
While I do appreciate the idea behind this (that men are artistic, too!), I feel like whoever made this missed the point. Slapping “real men” on a traditionally “female” product actually makes everything worse, believe it or not!
Attempting to legitimize a traditionally “feminine” activity by making it a “masculine” activity is kind of the whole issue here. It just redefines the activity under different gendered expectations, rather than acknowledging that the product was gender neutral all along… Which it is… Because it’s a goddamn coloring book.
There is nothing more masculine than heavy drinking, right?
Wrong. Believe it or not some drinks aren’t manly enough for men to enjoy. Fear not, though, because if you make a pun with the word “man” in it on the label, you can still enjoy fruity alcohol!
You know what else is for women? Proper punctuation and capitalization of text.
“Lavish For Him Sport”
Look really closely.
Do you see it?
This is dog shampoo. This is gendered dog shampoo. For your dog. Who I literally promise you has no concept of gender roles. I promise.
#masculinitysofragile men can’t even handle the idea that their male dog might be washed with girly shampoo.
