They were completely heartbroken
According to an infidelity statistics survey conducted in 2016 by the Associated Press’s Journal of Marital and Family Therapy, nearly half (41%) of marriages will be tainted with cheating. The offending party is probably the man in the relationship (22%), but women are catching up on the numbers (14%).
Those who have delved into this sensitive and sad subject have said that they believe the numbers are probably higher than that since hardly anyone wants to admit to cheating on a partner. Studies done in 1991 and 1993 by researcher Shere Hite concluded that 70% of married women and 72% of married men, respectively, cheat. It almost seems like cheating is the norm when you really start looking at the data.
With all of this deceptive, damaging behavior going on, partners of cheaters are finding out about their infidelity in so many terrible ways.
