Being 19 is terrifying. The world has completely roped you off from a significant chunk of itself, fully confident in the knowledge that you are not a fully formed person capable of making good decisions.
And yet, it’s the time when we expect just about every person to decide what to do with themselves for the rest of their days. It’s a bit of a contradiction but that’s a problem for the young!
Well, one particularly anxious teen decided to take his troubles to Reddit and ask them what he should do with himself. He asked the community what skills he should pick up to go further in life. The answers are enlightening.

Try to avoid going into debt over getting an education. Don’t fall into the trap of need to have your “education” completed by a specific age. As an example, almost no one that I know who went to college finished in four years. A few had to take a semester off and work full-time to make ends meet. It’s basically the programming language used by stat-heavy industries and is known by about four people, so if it’s on your resume on any job-hunting site expect to be headhunted repeatedly, even while employed.
