She didn't stand a chance!
Even though LGBTQ rights are becoming more prevalent throughout the world, there are unfortunately still those who continue to cling to homophobia and spread it across the Internet. That’s what happened to bi 18-year-old Charlie Marie, whose aunt had no idea what was coming when she used a homophobic slur on Facebook.
18-year-old Charlie Marie was in the middle of a fight with her aunt when things got too personal.
Her aunt went too far and, according to Charlie, told her, “At least I don’t have to worry about my kid being a f*ggot like your mum does.”
Charlie tweeted that “everyone started screaming at [her] because [she] told [her aunt] to f*ck herself.”
After Charlie ranted about it on Twitter, her aunt texted her to try to patch things up—but only managed to make things worse.
A Failed Attempt
Following Charlie’s Twitter rant, her aunt tried to patch things up by sending her a long text.
She wrote, “I hope I didn’t upset you earlier. That was not my intention.”
But after apologizing, she started hurling accusations at Charlie. “You need to stop being so sensitive I did not mean f*ggot in a bad way I just mean you gay people have a lot of drama.”
From there, it gets even harder to be sympathetic. She writes, “I tried to understand this bi shit you claim to be but you teenagers make stuff up all the time. Youre young you will find a man. You can change. You used to be so clever. If you think you cant accept my help dont come to Indies birthday I do not want you ruining the day.”
Charlie tweeted a screencap, followed by, “oh my god is she f*cking SERIOUS I’m about to lose my shit.”
Shutting Her Down
Charlie shot off a few more exasperated tweets about her aunt’s reaction before replying. She sarcastically writes, “I used to be clever until I started liking vaginas,” and “Education doesn’t matter when lesbian sex exists.”
Then she posted another screen cap of what she told her aunt. She texts, “Hi aunt Marie Don’t worry about it! I know what you’re like after a few bottles of wine. I can’t make Indie’s birthday I’m afraid, I have a huge lesbian orgy that day and me and the other f*ggots have been planning it for months.”
Then she hits her where it hurts, writing, “By the way how’s your divorce going? I saw uncle Lee with his new girlfriend, she’s 20 years younger than you right? Speak soon!”
