Okay, so it seems like some people out there haven’t gotten the memo that all compliments aren’t created equal. Yes, you might mean well, but let’s be honest—just because you “mean well” doesn’t mean it’s a nice thing to say. If you were wondering what is and is not okay to tell a lady, here’s a cheat sheet for you.
Any compliment that follows the “you sure are x for a y” format is a no go. For example, “you sure are pretty for a woman your age.”
Or “you sure are smart for a girl.”
