Alexa, can you not?

I got my mother-in-law a Dot for Christmas last year.
She’s a chronic insomniac, and tends to go to bed very, very late – after 3am.
One night, she was up a lot later than that and while watching random TV, Alexa piped up and said,
“Good night, Clarice.”
My mother-in-law’s name isn’t Clarice. (BlackwoodBear79)
Might wanna try asking her about what goes well with fava beans and chianti. (yoitsmrgoose)
Talking in Your Sleep

Just last night I was woken up by Alexa at 3am talking about someone named David. Thought I was talking in my sleep but there’s no prompts after I set my alarm that evening.
Creeped me the hell out. (thirtytwoounces)
Learning

My wife and I were playing 20 questions and (spoiler alert) our answer was “pig.” We got through until the end and Alexa guessed “Basenji.”
Now I don’t know how many of you know what a Basenji is, but they’re very rare, bark-less dogs and I happen to have one.
We’ve bought some Basenji themed things off Amazon before..so it’s either that or she’s listening. But I mean come on, she didn’t even say dog…straight to Basenji! Anyone else have similar stories?
TL:DR Alexa guessed the specific breed of my rare dog during 20 questions even tho our answer was “pig.” (pellpell4)
20 questions is in itself really creepy. It’s basically machine learning as a game. Uncanny how accurate it can be. (falcon_jab)
