Unforunately, this backlash is not the first time Forever 21 has been criticized for its design choices. This incident comes on the heels of outrage at a shirt which read, “Don’t say maybe if you want to say no,” which many proclaimed encouraged sexual assault.
Similarly to this instance, Forever 21 took the shirts from their website and issued an apology to “anyone who was offended by the product.”
Right now, the Twittersphere is largely wondering if Forever 21 has learned their lesson, since they didn’t seem to the first time.
