Pub near me did a pint of IPA for £2.40 or a half pint for £1, so rather than buy a pint for £2.40 I’d buy two half pints for £2. Did this for months before the owner caught on. (throwaway622796)

I moved 2000 miles to a new city before my senior year of high school. Got lost at the school on the first full day and ended up in the teachers lunch room – it was basically on the other side of the kitchen from the students lunch room.
Anyways, no one said anything so I decided I’d push my luck and use the teachers lunch room until someone said something. I decided it would be best if I was extra nice to the lunch ladies also.
No one ever said anything about it. I never stood in the student food line. I felt like a bit of a d*ck about it sometimes, but come on. That’s a golden opportunity. (GiveMeBrutality)
I did something similar. My school’s teacher cafeteria had coffee machines and creamer pumps, something students couldn’t have. Every morning I would go in, grab a big ass cup of coffee, and head to class. Neither the cooks or teachers said a word until my Calc teacher stopped me randomly one afternoon and asked if I was getting it for another teacher. Apparently it was the biggest running rumor as to why I knew about the coffee. I fessed up and he just laughed it off and said not to do it so often (samantha721)
USA

When Coke started their 5-letter codes, there was like a 1 in 10 chance of winning a free 2-liter.
But […] there was no purchase necessary, you could e-mail them and get 5 codes a day. So my wife e-mailed them from her e-mail and mine every day, giving us 10 codes a day.
So, we got like 85 free 2-liters during the 90-day contest. But then, my wife would use the free 2-liter coupon with a buy 4-get one free sale at the store. Of course, she would use 4 coupons to buy the Coke.
Then, for one weekend, the store had a buy 4 get 4 free. Or as we called it, “get 4 free, get 4 free”.
Ultimately, we got about 128 2-liter bottles of Coke for free. (PRMan99)
This was the most American thing I’ve ever read, and I thank you for sharing this story!! (Beebles00)
