Some people have all the luck
Here’s a glimpse of The Sherlocks’ Wikipedia page. Notice anything funny?
Check the very first line: “They released their first single ‘Live for the Moment’ in 2014, influenced by main vocalist Kiaran Crook’s cousin Adam Boyd […]”
Even in his drunken state, Adam was smart enough to edit the band’s Wikipedia page and include himself in their personal history, thus granting him access to the VIP section.
Can you believe it actually worked? Adam later showed off his feat on Facebook, writing, “So last night I went to see a band, but we got in late and our view was shite. In my drunken state I edited the band’s Wikipedia page to say I was family, and it worked! I got into the roped off VIP area because of it. Mental.”
The Band Reacts
You might be wondering how The Sherlocks reacted to Adam’s stunt, or if they even found out about it. You have to assume it’d be weird for them to glance up during the show and wonder which other member brought guests into the VIP section, only to later find out that none of them had.
But as the story gained traction online, The Sherlocks were clearly amused by Adam’s clever thinking, both retweeting numerous articles and directly tweeting about the incident several times, saying “fair play mate, good effort” and “This Wiki/VIP story has certainly gone viral fair play Adam Boyd, we can’t believe it worked. What an effort.”
We’re glad to see they took the stunt so well. By that point, Adam deserved the seats.
Unethical Life Hacks
Adam’s story is truly inspiring, but there are tons of little shortcuts out there to help you get what you want by cutting corners. While we’re not 100% sure of their legality, we can definitively say that these little hacks with make your life a LOT easier!
“There’s clothing that allows you to do virtually everything. Want to do graffiti? Wear one of those white paperish overalls. Steal a streetsign? Carry a toolbox, dress like a mechanic and you’re good to go. Dress up like a technician, walk into an office, tell somebody you were ‘told to take that PC’, you can just walk out with it. Never underestimate how little people question the uniform.” (ElectroKitten)
“Gain access to any event by putting on a chef coat, carrying two lobsters, and walking briskly.” (colonicdryheaves)
“You don’t even need the chef coat. No ones gonna stop a man with two lobsters.” (HaYuFlyDisTang)
