Two legends, one pic
It’s hard to hate on the Hollywood legends Bill Murray and Tom Hanks. Not only are they amazing actors, but they seem like amazingly normal guys in real life. And you’d never think they would get confused with one another: Both have been in blockbuster films for decades, so we are all quite familiar with their features.
But one viral pic may become the new The Dress photo as people can’t tell if this candid shot is of Tom or Bill.
The 66-year-old comedy legend first gained notoriety when he starred in Saturday Night Live during what is called its golden years. He even earned himself an Emmy for his performances on the show.
Soon Bill went out to star in insanely popular comedies in the 80s and 90s. If you haven’t seen Ghostbusters, Stripes, Caddyshack, Scrooged or Groundhogs Day then you are seriously doing yourself a disservice.
Even though Bill comes off as totally silly, he has proven himself a serious drama actor, like his role in Lost in Translation, which earned him an Oscar nomination for Best Actor.
I have to admit I had a girlhood crush on Tom, 66, after watching Big, which I will still watch whenever it’s on. If you’ve never seen an episode of Bosom Buddies, I suggest you treat yourself to some Tom in drag. Of course, he’s also a very established dramatic actor, with films like Saving Private Ryan, The Green Mile, and Cast Away.
Why aren’t more celebrities this friendly?
Maybe it’s something about different generations, but younger famous stars seem to be more elusive and cold towards strangers and fans, keeping a low profile in their normal everyday lives. But many of the older entertainers love interacting with their fans of all ages.
Just last month a photographer was shooting a couple’s wedding photos in Central Park when Tom Hanks came over to give his congrats. Who does that?!
