That's not how you get a job done.
Being a dad and a husband is not always easy. With patience and love, family life can be very rewarding, but Jeff Lytle really didn’t want to put any work into his relationship with his wife and child. He only wanted the rewarding feeling …. of a big paycheck. He didn’t mind taking out his family to get it. Luckily, his own errors led to his downfall.
A Normal Family
Jeff Lytle seemed to have the perfect life; he seemed to love his four-year-old daughter and his wife more than anything. But, in actuality, he valued money a lot more than he valued his family.
Sweet Life Insurance Money
Jeff saw an opportunity to do just that, after taking out a hefty insurance policy on them. In the event of his wife and daughter’s deaths, he would receive $1.5 million.
He would do just about anything to get his hands on that money, including hastening their deaths.
Making an Offer
This bad dad somehow managed to find a hitman to do his dirty work for half of the insurance money. The two exchanged phone numbers, but hitman Shayne never received the instructions he needed.
Jeff sent the text: “You remember you said that you would help me kill my wife. I’m going to take you up on that offer.”
But the message went to his former boss instead of the hitman.
