Spark one up. For your government.
Our country is slowly getting more and more progressive and shedding it’s uptight puritan roots. And this includes some states legalizing marijuana.
Perhaps uptight people severely underestimated the amount of family and friends who are cool. But for most of us who are woke, it’s no surprise that legalizing the plant in Colorado and taxing it would lead to lots of money for that state. But BILLIONS?!
Won’t someone think of the children!
There are still plenty of anti-marijuana nay-sayers. Maybe they should take a hit and chill the eff out. Seriously, though, there are still people who’ve never partaken and are clutching their pearls. Why? Besides the “gateway” thing, they are concerned about impaired judgement in public, health effects, and even children getting their hands on weed.
But anyone who smokes or is friendly with a smoker knows that these problems have always been prevalent: Legal or not. Naysayers underestimate the number of people who smoke weed consistently and assume everyone will go crazy with reefer madness once legalized.
Won’t someone think of everything else!
One of the reasons I push for legalizing marijuana is because then Americans can legally grow their own. Not only does this create legitimate jobs, but then it cuts out the drug lords who do awful things to people, including children. And to extrapolate, less money for gangs in your city.
But let’s talk about the dough.
Hot damn! It’s a goldmine!
Aside from Colorado, you can high anywhere you want in Oregon, Alaska, and Washington state. While ignorant people claim that marijuana is a “gateway” drug, maybe they should just take a hit and chill out.
The Marijuana Policy Group released a 24-page report on the economic impact of legalizing marijuana. The group said the legalization created over 18,000 jobs in 2015. Plus it accrued almost a billion dollars in sales and $121 million in taxes in 2015. Yes, marijuana tax is 10%, on top of local and state taxes.
