The fat-shaming is not going down well
A pedicure can be a relaxing and fun experience that leaves your feet feeling soft and supple. If you’ve never had one (and can afford it), I would recommend trying it out at least one time. But if you’re a little larger than the average person, don’t go to Rose Nails in Tennessee for the procedure. You’ll get charged almost ten dollars more just because you’re overweight. The salon in question says that there’s nothing wrong with their fat-shaming policy, but the store’s customers have a different view.
There’s nothing like a nice pedicure to make you feel good. The service usually involves sitting in a fancy chair with a foot bath attached and a skilled pedicurist bathing your feet, scrubbing away flaws and clipping your nails.
A Strange Sign
When a woman went into her local nail salon in Memphis, Tennessee in March 2017, she saw something that made her stop in her tracks, pull out her phone, and take a picture that would very soon go viral, causing a lot of backlash.
The handwritten sign that Deshania Ferguson took a photo of at Rose Nails read: “Sorry, but if you are overweight, pedicures will be $45 due to service fees for pedicurists. Thank you!”
While the owner is saying he doesn’t know where this sign came from, he may very well take its advice…
