Finally, an athletic brand steps up!
Muslim women have been wearing traditional hijabs while doing sports and let’s be honest… it’s not ideal. They come untucked, get loose, and constantly need readjustment. It’s hard to be your best when you’re constantly worrying about something that should have such a simple solution.
I can’t believe it has taken a brand this long to develop a hijab designed for sports, but better late than never!
Check out the details behind one of Nike’s most talked about new products.
Wait until you see what Nike has in the works.
Nike just released an ad campaign around their upcoming product, the Nike Pro Hijab.
The innovative product will be made from a polyester fabric with small holes to allow for breathability. The hijab will be available in neutral colors.
Don’t get too excited!
The hijab is a pull-over style so that the athletes can put it on with ease. Although the hijab does have a mesh-like fabric, it will still remain opaque, as required.
Nike decided to create the hijab after hearing of Muslim women struggling with the traditional hijab.
While Nike’s latest creation is very exciting, you won’t be able to purchase it in the near future.
One More Year
The Nike Pro Hijab will not be available for purchase until Spring 2018. It has been a long creation process. It took 13 months to design, and we still have to wait another year!
Only professional Muslim athletes are able to get their hands on the item until then. Figure skater Zahra Lari shared how it feels to be wearing the new product. See her in action!
