It seems like it would be fairly easy being a professor at a college. You don’t have to worry as much about your students passing your class because they pay to be there; it’s all on them. But one particular teacher was very concerned about the welfare of all of his students when not one of them showed up to take his class. It was such a strange day that he thought something horrible had happened on campus. So he took us all on his terrifying journey by tweeting it live.
Adam Heath Avitable is a jack of many trades. He writes, he does comedy, and apparently he teaches the occasional college class. But not many people would know about the last gig considering the oddly-low attendance for his course.
Adam first noticed that something strange was happening when not one student showed up for his class 15 minutes into it. Many colleges have a policy that class is officially cancelled if the teacher is 15 minutes late, so Adam joked that the opposite may apply to this situation.
But he hoped that this was a fluke, and they would show up shortly.
At this point, Adam is definitely freaked out. He said that he heard one person approaching, but it was just an administrator who found his situation funny. He then sent out this tweet with his now famous hashtag: “Five more minutes have passed. I’m starting to doubt myself. Did I tell them no class? Is today Thursday? Am I dreaming? #Classwatch2017”
