This movement has gotten the attention of some big name brands, and it looks like there male fashion industry is undergoing change. Kelvin Davis is under a two-year modeling contract with a startup called Chubbies, which uses real customers with real bodies to model their products.
From startups to bigger names such as Dolce & Gabbana, which held a runway show with 140 men and women of different shapes, ages, and races, it’s clear that this movement is taking a hold of the fashion industry. IMG even launched Brawn, a plus-sized male division, in 2016.
The New York Post reports that New York Fashion Week’s creator, Fern Mallis, thinks it was a step in the right direction. “Social media is the engine of society right now,” he said. “[IMG Models President] Ivan Bart is really seeing that this is what’s going on in the world, and why shouldn’t we be reflecting that on the runway?”

It seems like these changes, though slow, are indicating a world that is slowly becoming more accepting of bodies of all sizes for women and men.
