This is your future!
“Senior moments” happen when you least expect it. All of the sudden, you’re puzzled by a piece of technology that you knew so well, or you find yourself complaining about younger people. Then you realize that you’re turning into your parent.
We all get old, and we’re all going to experience the sillier effects of aging. But right now, you can giggle at all of the “old people” things that are in store for your future!
All the Options
My mom has developed this habit of giving me way too many options of things even when I don’t need them. For example, I recently visited home and it was cold, and I didn’t have a hat. This was our conversation:
“This hat doesn’t fit me or your dad, you can take this one.” “Ok, I’ll wear this one, thanks.”
“There’s also some more hats in the closet that I can get out for you if you don’t like that one.” “No, I’m good, I’ll wear this one.”
“There’s a really cute hat that I think is in the closet in your sister’s old room. I’ll go up and get it and you can see if you like it more than that one.” “No, I’ll wear this hat.”
“I have a big box of hats in the garage, too, I can go get that and you can look through it.” “No, I’ll wear this hat, it’s a fine hat, I like this hat, I’ll wear it.”
“Or we could run over to Target and see if they have any nice hats.” (IAmAeruginosa)
They have a landline with two phones, both phones are in the same room, each phone has its own ringtone. One ring is some sort of Jeopardy-sounding melody and the other is a midi rap beat. So every time the phone rings, both ring at the same time, making this god awful mess of a noise. (No-Right-Way)
My parents have landline phones that say who is calling instead of actually ringing. “Call from… 4… 1… 0… 8… 6… 7… 5… 3… 0… 9”
They have three different ones and they are all different voices. But you can hear all three through the whole house. I want to smash my head through the wall whenever someone calls. (boxidea)
Sign on the Virtual Line
Dad STILL continues to sign his name on the bottom of each Facebook post. (steals-from-kids)
My Dad signs text messages. Also, awhile back I sent him a smiley face emoji in a text, he has since discovered emjois and most texts from him include one or more. (lenamarieee)
