Did this company take it too far?
Dressing up babies can be one of the most fun parts of parenthood. Most parents like to go all out in bright, colorful outfits or clothes with funny sayings that the babies can’t read. It is usually all in good fun, but this group of moms think that one company took it too far with these sayings. They’re calling them inappropriate.
Going Too Far?
A group of mothers on a parenting forum known as Mumsnet started a stir when they found a line of onesies with inappropriate and crass sayings on them. One of the users, Jarhead 123, posted this picture of a onesie with the phrase, “All Mummy Wanted Was A Back rub.” She captioned it, “Am I being unreasonable to think this babygrow is awful? Cringe!”
Her fellow users were far from thinking that this phrase was funny. User TheWitTank wrote, “Does anyone actually buy s–t like this?! Never seen anyone put their baby in one (thankfully).”
LanaKanesLeftNippleTassle wrote, “I know that, obviously, babies are the result of s-x. But does anyone look ata little baby and think ‘awww, I wonder if they were a mistake/how their parents concieved them’????”
Others even thought it may have implied rape. User ThisisrealityGreg wrote, “Apart from the grossness of s-x references on kids’ clothes, this actually seems to be saying that someone was raped!? Horrific.”
In fact, this wasn’t the only cringeworthy onesie that the Mumsnet users pointed out. User myusernameisnotusername shared this onesie sold by Amazon, which reads “I’m proof my Daddy doesn’t shoot blanks,” with a picture of a gun on it. They wrote, “Check this one out. Gross.”
