Au Revoir FB!
Back in 2007 when Facebook, Instagram and Twitter were just babies on the Internet, I clearly remember everyone speaking about social media in a positive way. It allowed people from across the world to stay in touch in previously unheard ways, companies were discovering the magic of social marketing, and it was a cool way to spew any and every thought in your head for the entire world to read.
Fast forward ten years, most of the world still loves using the big three. However, there’s a significant part of the population that have had it with Facebook and have deleted their account forever.
Out of Touch
I realized that I was spending all my time my face dug in my phone. Stopped it completely.
Sadly fell in Reddit after a while. (HuseyinCinar)
All the Complaining
An old school ‘friend’ kept moaning on Facebook about how her kids were a pain, which was no surprise seeing as she seemed to spend more time on Facebook than with her kids. Decided that the people that liked me would find a way to speak to me. Funnily enough they did, and I didn’t need Facebook. (EdanE33)
Realizing that my family would object if I didn’t add them. No amount of sh*t memes and pretending to care about the lives of others was worth that. (This_Man_Has_No_Dick)
As soon as I made mine i sought out their respective profiles and blocked every f*cking one of them. I also use a altered version of my name (fuccinnerdbutt)
