So much can go wrong on your night out...
Went to a restaurant with booth seating and the table was just a bit too far from the benches. I barely remember the quality of the food because I just remember being annoyed at how awkward it was eating there. (TheBlindGuardian)
This is why I always choose tables with chairs. I was on a first date, and the benches at the restaurant were a little too far from the table to comfortably reach the table, I had to scoot to the edge of the bench so that just my butt was resting on it.
My dress was a smooth material, so there was a lot of scooting and adjusting to make sure I don’t fall off. Cue the waiter who checks in on us during our meal. Waiter gives me a friendly pat on the back, but ends up pushing me down between the table and bench. My plate falls onto me as I descend into oblivion, and my dress rides up to greet the food on my chest. Surprisingly, this wasn’t the worst date I’ve ever been on. (catsxmaru)
When the tables are incredibly close together. My boyfriend and I will go somewhere else if we have to be seated at a two top that’s nearly touching elbows with the other table. (Zebrashirt)
This must be a growing trend because I never remember it happening when I was younger, but these past couple years I’ve seen it a lot. Restaurants have these long tables that fit like 16 people at them and then expect people to be okay with sitting with other random customers. (SirJorahTheExplorer)
When the restaurant is very quiet and manager is oblivious to your social cues and just won’t stop talking to you and just let you enjoy your meal. I like a bit of banter just as much as the next person, but if you come to a restaurant with your other half to spend some quality time, there is a limit. (6_023x1023)
