The first step is admitting you need help
If you regularly hit the gym, then kudos! You’re on your way to achieving the body that you want and leading a healthier life. Even if you’re just starting out, every little bit helps. But when you’re surrounded by large, heavy machinery meant to help sculpt your body, things can go very wrong. These people tell their all-too-familiar stories about those times in the gym when they totally overestimated the strength of their muscles.
Shaking my bottle without putting the lid on properly, resulting in some poor old guy, about to do some squats, getting covered in my protein shake. (marc_fm)
“Bottle” is that what you call it now a days? (czi)
The only people at my gym drinking anything other than water are the guys doing 8×20 curls and sipping a brightly colored (probably expensive) drink out of a brand new shaker bottle with the sticker still on it. [deleted user]
Pre-workout in my system, Kanye West in my ears, I’m ready to start my lifts. No one is using the bench, so I make my way over there. There’s a couple of gym bros around, no big deal. Time to show them that this skinny guy can lift, and lift damn well.
Warm up set of 185lbs. Load the 45. Load the 25. Change the song. Skrillex. Yuck. But it’ll do. Lay down on the bench…..lift the bar…..IMMEDIATELY the bar swings to the left. I only loaded one side of the bar with weights….of course the biggest guy over there comes over, “You ok, Big Guy?”. I think being called “Big Guy” by a big guy after a rookie error hurt more than the fall from the bench. (carter_daTHIRD)
Went up to a girl who looked like a girl I flirt with a lot… She was stretching off in a corner and I come up and say “So how’d you get so flexible”. It wasn’t my friend, and I never learned how she got so flexible. (havocmaker1211)
