When your birthday, or Christmas, or any other gift-giving event comes around, there’s no doubt you get a little excited for the presents heading your way. The best feeling is opening up a present just to be greeted with something that you’ve been wanting for months, and being able to tell the person who got it for you how much you love it. On the other hand, one of the worst things is getting a terrible present and having to pretend like you actually wanted it. These Reddit users opened up about the worst gifts they’ve ever received, and you’ll be shocked at some of them.
When I turned 16 I told my parents that I didn’t want a party or anything but I really wanted a cell phone.
That day I came home my friends house on my 16th birthday and as I was coming in the door I saw a bunch of boxes in the trash for cell phones.
I got very excited and when I went into the kitchen I saw several cell phones in the kitchen table. Thinking that my parents had gotten me a few different options I began sizing up my choice.
However my hopes soon became dashed when through the course of the next few minutes it became clear that my mom, my dad, and my brother had all gotten new cell phones….I had not.
My parents said it was because I had said that I did not want a party or anything special.
Even thinking about it now disappointments (vogdswagon26)
When I was like 10, my sister got a Wii for Christmas. I got… a Wii remote. So I could play with her. Or with her permission. She spent the next three years being a giant controlling douche over when I could or couldn’t play, even if she wasn’t using the Wii at all. (RoyalLlama)
A soccer ball wrapped in cabbage leaves from my then boyfriend. I’ve never had any interest in soccer, was a 20yr old girl and the cabbage wtf. (ariellann)
