Can I pay in pennies?
People coming in at 8:59pm “Oh, I’ll just be quick! I need one thing!”. That doesn’t change the fact that we need to pull tills, sweep, mop, front & face, etc etc and we cannot do that with a customer in store. Now instead of leaving at 9:15, I’m leaving at 9:30 and not being paid for that (4-12-2016)
Out of Stock
When customers hear “we are currently out of stock of this item, I’m sorry” and interpret it as “I, personally, am keeping this item hidden from you because I’m too lazy to do my job” then get angry at you.
99/100 times the employee wants to help and is trying their best, there’s really only so much we can do. Don’t take it so personally. (squashgodzilla)
“Just check in the back.” Um, I just put stock away, and I’m pretty sure it didn’t just appear out of thin air…. (curiouscat06)
“I know y’all got more in the back.”
Yep. This is all an elaborate tease. We never wanted your money. (cryoclasm)
I want to speak to your manager
When they want a ridiculous deal on something and get upset when I won’t budge on pricing….
“I want to talk to the manager.”
Surprise, that’s me! The answer is still no.
Funny story. When I first moved to a new store, one of the appliance associates was getting frustrated when a customer was trying to get a better price on a clearance laundry set.
It was marked 20% off and he offered them the set at 30%. They still wanted more. He told me what was going on, a look of resignation on his face. I took over and sent him on to another customer.
Greeted the customer and offered to ring them up and they said they wanted a better deal. Told them it was already 20% off, and they were all like “But he said it was 30% off!”.
Oh I’m sorry, you probably should have bought it from him then, as I am the manager. This set is 20% off, did you still want to buy it? (ArahilTheGeek)
