Depending on where you live, you might want to stay away from the online dating scene
When it comes to the dating world, nothing is growing faster than the many options we have for online dating. But if you’re not careful, you might be spreading something besides love come Valentine’s day. Will your state turn out to be one of the worst? Or will you be perfectly fine trying to find the one through an online dating service?
Swiper no swiping!
Maybe you should slow down on the swiping. With online dating now being bigger than it’s ever been before, and smartphones making it easier and easier every day, there’s no doubt that the number of people trying to find love online is going to keep growing quickly. But is it really safe to go on a date with someone that you’ve never met in person before?
Safewise, a home security review site, did a study on how safe it is in each state to be a part of dating online. The ratings are based on the safety of the state when it comes to meeting someone online, as well as the rates of finding some pretty common sexually transmitted infections in the states.
The good and the bad
According to this map that Safewise made, you’re in trouble if you live in Washington D.C., after them you can see states like Alaska, Louisiana, New Mexico, Nevada and South Carolina follow right after. On the other side of the spectrum, if you live in places like Maine, Vermont, or New Hampshire then you’re considered to be in a better situation when it comes to the online dating jungle.
