These Couples Are Twinning Hard
In 1991 a man named Phil Malm met a young woman named Jena at a festival and knew right then and there that they would spend the rest of their lives together. That same day, Phil’s twin brother, Doug, met Jena’s twin sister, Jill, and decided to do the same. Now the two pairs of twins have been happily married for twenty-four years and still live in the same four bedroom house.
Despite the occasional mix-up, the couples live a fairly normal Idaho life and even help each other raise their kids. Read on for a look inside the weirdly wonderful life of the Malm family…
Meet Phil and Doug
Phil and Doug didn’t grow up spending every waking second together, they actually attended different schools so that people would not confuse them.
“When we grew up, we went to two separate places so friends didn’t know all the time that there was two of us,” said Doug.
Meet Jill and Jena
Jill and Jena were the opposite and the two have been practically inseparable since birth. They claim they were raised “practically as one child,” and even work the same jobs.
How They Met
The Malms came together at the annual Twins Days festival in Twinsburg, Ohio in 1991, after Doug and Phil were crowned “Twins Day Kings” the year before. Jill and Jena also won multiple Twins Day contests that same year. From there they began a 2,000 mile courtship that ended with them being wed, at the same fair, two years later.
