I'll bet you didn't know all of this Chandler info before
Can you believe that we’ve been watching Rick and the gang defeat the dead and living villains down in Georgia for almost a decade now? We’re just a few months away from the premiere episode of Season 8, and we’re already chomping at the bit to know what’s about to go down between the Saviors, the Hilltop, the Kingdom, Alexandria, and all of the other communities.
Let’s take it back to the real world for now. Chandler Riggs, the actor who plays Rick’s son Carl, turned the big 1-8 on June 27th! All he had to say was, “To be honest, the only perk of being 18 is being able to go out past midnight to buy some cookie dough.” We’re happy to see him growing up and continuing his acting career. Here’s every little thing you need to know about Chandler!
Seasoned Post-Apocalyptic Actor
The Walking Dead isn’t the first time that Chandler has acted in a zombie movie. His first role was in Jesus H. Zombie as a little boy named Egon who doesn’t survive. It wasn’t so dramatic though; it was really a comedy film.
When one of the characters on the show gets knocked off, the cast and crew will have a “Death Dinner” to send the actor on their way in style. Chandler rarely got to go to them though. He said, “Usually they have the death dinners … at bars, so I can’t go!” Now that he’s 18, they may find more places for these dinners that will allow him in.
Like a Real Dad
Ever since the beginning of the show, eight years ago, Chandler and fellow actor Andrew Lincoln (Carl’s father Rick) have gotten along the best. When he was younger, he said, “I have known Andrew Lincoln for years now, and the rest of the cast not as long, so I am definitely closest to Andy.”
That closeness hasn’t stopped. When Chandler graduated high school, Andrew was there to cheer him on. Chandler said, “I’ve spent the most time on set with him, and he’s become a great friend of mine.”
