There's no telling what would have happened if no one was there.
Every once in a while, a nation is stunned to hear about an unthinkable crime occurring, like a parent murdering his or her own child. It may actually be more prevalent than you realize, unfortunately. When a parent suffers from a mental disorder and has nowhere to turn for help, they can resort to getting rid of the thing that they treasure the most. One Canadian mother must have been suffering when she decided to drown her child, but there were some saving angels out there who stopped her.
On February 9 in Ajax, Ontario, a woman was taking a winter stroll when she happened upon a scene that she felt was off. She saw that a woman, 29, had her three year-old son on the railing of a bridge over freezing cold waters.
She approached the mom and lead her and the child off of the bridge towards the parking lot, thinking they would be safer.
As she neared the parking lot, she lost sight of the mother and child. She went searching for them, but calamity was already occurring when she found them.
A Frightening Scene
The distraught mother had gone to the water’s edge and plunged her son underneath the freezing water. While the woman wasn’t able to reach them quick enough, another by-stander was able to pull the child out of the water and away from his mother’s grasp.
This scenario, unfortunately, is not uncommon…
