For 19 long seconds!!
As we come to the end of the second week of Trump’s presidency, we’re starting to accept that each morning will be a whole new set of policies to fight and Trump antics to make fun of. Thankfully, this specific article is one to poke fun of our dear cheeto prez (sorry not sorry).
This Friday morning, Trump met with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe to speak about foreign affairs. “We will work together to promote our shared interests, of which we have many,” Trump said after the meeting. Real specific as always. From what we can guess, the duo spoke about the threats from North Korea and Chinese expansion into the South China Sea. Now incase you’re new to politics, at the end of every international meeting between a country leaders, the two parties involved pose for a *short* handshake and the photographers go wild.
It looks like Trump is still learning the ropes of the handshake because as TMZ so wonderfully reported, things got awkward real fast. We don’t know if it was a weird power move by Trump, but the dude wouldn’t let go of the hand shake for almost 20 seconds! You can see the three of four times that Prime Minister Shinzo Abe tries to break away from the grip and Trump forcefully brings him right back.
How painful was that to watch? It was as if Trump was trying to squeeze the living daylights out of the hand. The real crowning glory moment of the video is when Trump finally lets go and you can see Shinzo Abe almost gasp in relief. If we didn’t know better, we would have guess that they were recreating the scene in the office where Andy and Dwight meet for the first time (commence “My horse is bigger than your horse argument).
Okay, didn’t realize it would be that similar!! Hilarious all the same. Let us know what you think and be sure to SHARE this story!
