Should The Tooth Fairy Be A Felon?
Assuming that no one reading this is under the age of 12 years old, it’s safe to say that we’ve all lost our baby teeth by now. Most of the time they came out on their own, biting into an apple, playing on a playground, even just sitting there and plucking at them with our tongue. There were times however, when stubborn baby teeth needed a little… coaxing. That’s when our parents came to the rescue with the old dental floss and a doorknob trick, right?
Not for one Salt Lake City mother who is now looking at felony child abuse for attempting to pull out two of her 7-year-old’s teeth in a Walmart restroom…
The Walmart Dentist
According to the Associated Press, the woman was shopping with her two sons at a Walmart when her 7-year-old started complaining about his loose tooth. The savvy-shopping mother then purchased some antibacterial lotion and some needle-nose pliers to do a little pop-up dentistry in the restroom.
It’s just like pulling teeth!
Removing a child’s loose tooth can be done easily and painlessly if the tooth is ready to go. Most dentists usually suggest something soft, like gauze pads, to get a hold of the loose tooth before pulling it out.
It’s a completely natural occurrence that every child goes through and you can almost guarantee there is going to be some tears for a few of them.
Big Brother Saves The Day
In this case, the woman’s older son claims that his little brother only mentioned one tooth that was ready to come out. When he started hearing cries of pain coming from the bathroom, he took action and fought with his mother to set him free. Apparently she decided a second tooth was also ready to come out as well.
It should be noted that the child received no sort of pain relief or anesthetic.
