A story worth sharing
When it comes to being pregnant, the first ultrasound is a time to feel excited and thankful as a new mother. For this mom it was a different situation. It took guts for her to share this heartbreaking story on her own, but she did it and it has spread across the I
nternet while touching people across the world.
Emily Christine Fauver and her husband were both getting excited to go to her first ultrasound, which typically is around 8 weeks into a pregnancy. She describes the way that she felt when she first laid her eyes on the image on the screen would make you think her heart must have dropped.
Emily said “I saw nothing.” She knew exactly what was going on, and she felt what was soon to come. “I saw nothing because my body was just hours away from miscarrying,” she wrote. It seems like Emily knew what was going to happen right when she laid her eyes on the ultrasound image.
A complete 180
From excitement, to devastation. Fauver says that the nurse quickly left the room, trying to reassure the couple that everything was fine, but they knew. She says that she had spent time looking up pictures of other women’s first ultrasounds, and fighting back tears she knew something was different, and she knew what was coming next.
