She called it a "Balls Voyage!"
Jason Hemperly is the happy dad of two little ones, and he knows that his life is complete. He’s so sure that he doesn’t want to have any more children that he got a vasectomy, and his wife Kimberly couldn’t be happier with his decision. To show her appreciation for his sacrifice for their peaceful little world, she threw him a party.
It wasn’t just a nice dinner out with gifts, however. She threw him a grand “Balls Voyage,” full of theme-appropriate gifts and hilarious t-shirts.
No More Babies
Kimberley had her and Jason’s daughter Harper in 2013 and their son Brody in the summer of 2017. She was made to give birth both times by C-section, which she felt took a toll on her body. She told Bored Panda that she suffered from “rough recoveries” and knew she didn’t want more children.
Instead of Kimberly having to undergo a sterilization treatment like bilateral tubal ligation (aka having her tubes tied), Jason stepped up and “took one for the team.”
“I really just wanted to show my support and appreciation to my husband for doing what he did,” she raved about his brave choice. “Because not many men offer to go under the knife.”
A vasectomy is a procedure in which the vas deferens tubes are cut or blocked so that sperm can’t travel up the tubes and get into semen ejaculated during climax. After the procedure — which is done in office within a few hours — the man’s body will absorb sperm after it’s made, meaning he will ejaculate semen that doesn’t contain sperm. It’s safe and effective.
A Little Party
Kimberly was so happy about Jason’s sacrifice that she decided to throw him a surprise party, featuring a ton of puns and sperm-themed gifts. “We have an announcement to make,” she wrote about the funny affair on Facebook. “We are thrilled to say we will NOT be adding anymore tiny humans to our family!”
Kimberly made a t-shirt for Jason that said: “Time to Retire the Swim Team.” Her children wore “Swim Team Survivor” shirts with their birth year.
The happy wife also made Jason a meal of sausages and wieners on top of crafting a post-op care package of Ding Dongs, extra tender beef jerky, bananas, and a glove filed with frozen peas to help with his pain. However, nothing was more exciting than the cake that was embroidered with swimming sperm and topped with a gravestone featuring the date of his surgery.
“My husband was surprised by the party. He didn’t know I was planning anything until he got home from work Sunday. He thought it was thoughtful, caring and of course hilarious,” said Kimberly of the success of the party.
