Winter Is Here
Game of Thrones Season 6 has come and gone, setting plenty of new records along the way, including having a whopping 8.89 million viewers for the season finale, the show’s highest number of viewers yet.
Now, fans will have to wait nearly a year for Season 7, which, along with Season 8, the showrunners just announced will be a shorter season consisting of longer episodes. And without a new book installment on the horizon (come on, George), life is already starting to feel pretty Thrones-less.
If you’re like me, you’re still clinging on to the sheer majesty that was the Season 6 finale, “The Winds of Winter,” and you may have even watched it two or three times since Sunday, catching new things each time. But did you pick up on every Easter Egg and reference that the episode cleverly made?
But don’t worry: we’ve got you covered!
When doing research in Westeros, where better to start than the library? The Season 6 finale finally brought us to Oldtown, where we get a glimpse inside the mythic Citadel that we’ve heard so much about on the show and in the books.
Many of us may have had the same reaction as Sam, and Disney fans were certainly giggly at the sight of the main library, which was clearly inspired by the library in Beauty and the Beast.
But Wait, There’s More
As if the library weren’t fascinating enough, we couldn’t help but notice the large armillary spheres or gyroscopes hanging from the ceilings. If you looked closely, you might have realized that these are indeed the same spheres from the show’s intro sequence.
