Stand-up comedian Bonnie Hunt was perfect for the role of grown-up Sarah Whittle. Before Jumanji, she had appeared in Rain Man and the first two Beethoven movies, and her comedy career was widely respected.
Since then, Bonnie has been doing great things. She’s acted and lent her voice talent to movies like Jerry Maguire, A Bug’s Life, The Green Mile, Monsters, Inc., the Cheaper by the Dozen films, the Cars series, and Toy Story 3. She was also given several short-lived TV shows like Life with Bonnie and The Bonnie Hunt Show.
Most recently, Hunt voiced Bonnie Hopps in Zootopia. Hunt is also a voice actress on Cars Toons: Tales From Radiator Springs, and she will be reprising her role as the voice of Sally Carrera in 2017’s Cars 3.
Wait a minute! Did you even know that the actress who played young Sarah in Jumanji was none other than actress and singer Laura Bell Bundy? After that, she appeared on shows like Home Improvement, Veronica Mars, How I Met Your Mother, Hart of Dixie, Anger Management, and Scream Queens, as well as in movies such as Dream Girls.
These days, Tony Award-nominated Laura Bell Bundy is perhaps best known for her music and stage career. She made her Broadway debut in Hairspray in 2002, originating the role of bad girl Amber Von Tussle. She later originated the role of Elle Woods in Legally Blonde: The Musical. After her time on Broadway, she moved to Nashville to focus on her country music career.
Perhaps most recognizable for his role in Jumanji, actor and writer Adam Hann-Byrd has also appeared in movies like Little Man Tate and Halloween H20.
In 2004, Hann-Byrd graduated from Wesleyan University with degrees in film studies and psychology. More recently, he has worked as a writer on the shows Fringe and The Morning After.
