The rise of social media has made all life’s momentous occasions public for the world to see. It seems social media users do want the world to see every detail of their lives and this includes the embarrassing moments too.

Maybe at the time it seemed like a good idea to post your engagement proposal for everyone on the internet. We’ve seen the good and bad of weddings going viral online. Join us as we visit the most awkward engagements on the web.

SHARE if you know someone who has posted a priceless proposal for all their friends to see.

Birthday Ring

One (very dumb) man got his girlfriend a diamond ring for her birthday. He had no other intention but gifting his girlfriend a ring. She of course said yes and he went through with it. Needless to say they didn’t last very long.

After the Jump

This guy couldn’t have thought this was a good idea. Jumping off a building isn’t the right way to show your love but who are we to judge.

Flash Mob Style

Flash mobs are pretty cool for viral internet videos, they are not a cool way to propose to the love of your life. Unless your significant other loves impromptu dance gatherings, then by all means propose away.

While Wearing a Face Mask

You want to look your best at the moment of your engagement so avoid all hours that your partner might be pretending she is having a spa day. Catching your love in cucumber peels and sweatpants are not the way to a yes.

A fake arrest is almost as terrifying as your boyfriend falling off a roof. While a fake arrest may seem hilarious while plotting an engagement we suggest taking an alternative route.

Skywriting

Skywriting is way overdone. Be quick on that proposal or you might miss your words in the sky. Also good luck playing weatherman for picking a date for this one.

In The Ocean

Don’t get us wrong, a beachside proposal is super romantic. Catch a perfect sunset, have a cozy blanket on hand and pull out that ring! Just make sure you are appropriate distance from the actual waves.

Disney World

Sure a Disney World proposal is cool if you are 10 but if not maybe you should try entering adulthood with a more elevated approach. Unless you both are Disney fanatics, then Disney World it is.

At a Sporting Event

Leave this idea for the movies. Does getting proposed to on a Jumbotron really sound that appealing? SO many people eating hotdogs watching your private moment.

Hidden in Dessert

Desserts are sweet enough alone, you don’t need to hide an engagement ring in your food to seal the deal. Just pop out that little box instead, and she will get the hint.

A Valentine’s Proposal

The sign of a true goober. There is nothing cornier than a Valentine’s Day proposal.

Holiday Proposal

Any holiday is a bad time for a proposal. If the marriage doesn’t work out the holiday will forever be tainted with memories of your failed union.

At Work

Your not Pam and Jim from The Office alright. Forget what your co-workers say, a marriage proposal at work is not the way to go. They just want an excuse to party.

At the Food Court

Oh no! This guy went there, a true proposal at the food court. We are shuddering at the thought of the wedding to follow.

iPhone Case

Keep your iPhone cases practical or cute, they are not the place for marriage proposals. Like we mentioned before for all you social media lovers, try the face to face thing for something this important.

Love Rocks?

Maybe your significant other is an avid rock collector, then this proposal might be alright? Otherwise think again.

Hot Sauce is For Tacos

Not for proposing marriage. You are setting yourself up for failure if you inscribe a proposal message on your hot sauce packet to slip over to your sweetie.

Pizza Delivery

Actually on second thought — some people might like to be proposed to through a delicious, warm pizza pie. It could be fun to dress up as a pizza delivery guy and do the deed but make sure you know your future fiancé well enough for this one, could potentially be a disaster.
