This Is The Face Of Smoking
We all know by now that smoking is terrible for our health. We’re told time again through uncomfortable PSAs, family members, and it’s listed right on the carton of cancer sticks themselves, and yet it’s still a vice in this country that we can’t seem to kick. While cigarette smoking in the United States might be at its lowest rate of consumption ever, it’s still the single largest preventable cause of death and disease in our country.
Smoking kills almost half a million Americans every single year.
But statistics aren’t persuasive enough for everyone – because numbers aren’t tangible in the same way that throat cancer is. That’s why the American Society of Plastic Surgeons have taken a series of photographs that pairs of twins together in which one of the twins carried a smoking habit and the other one did not. The effects are clear as day.
