Sarah Koenig’s first season of Serial is the piece de resistance of podcasts, with its astronomical success opening the doors of the podcast world to the population at large. It also turned the old case of Adnan Syed into a national obsession. Season 2 just debuted with the story of defamed army deserter Bowe Bergdahl.
