The holidays are a time of year when we’re able to take stock and be thankful for all of the wonderful things we have in our lives, even if the year hasn’t been easy on us. In that way Sa’fyre Terry exemplifies the strength and beauty of the Christmas spirit.

A young girl living in New York, Sa’fyre suffers from burns over 75 percent of her body caused by a fire in her home two years ago, but worse than the damage caused to her body, she also lost her entire family in the tragic event: her father David Terry, her sister Layah and her two brothers Michael and Donavan. It’s a miracle that Sa’fyre lived, and this year she’s asking for one simple thing from Santa, and you can help…

Please SHARE the Christmas spirit and let’s make this the best Christmas ever for Sa’fyre.

A Family In Need

Sa’fyre’s story is tragic to be sure. And the challenges have just kept on coming for her and her aunt’s family who lovingly brought her in as a new member of the family after the fire. Things haven’t been easy, and a friend of the family has described their predicament on social media…

“I would like to ask all, to help my dear friends Mike and Liz 2 years ago Liz lost her brother and his 3 children in a tragic house fire. To make matters worse to find out it was an arson a heartless act. As a result of the fire she lost her 2 nephews Michael 2yrs, Donavon 11 months, and her niece Layah 3yrs, who she had custody of since her birth, and took care of as a daughter, along with her only brother David 32yrs. His birthday was the following day.”

“The wonderful news is her only living relative Safyre 5yrs, survived the fire, she was burned over 75% of her body, her right hand amputated, and just recently had her left foot amputated. 10 months of initial hospitalization where Liz consistently traveled to visit her, offering hope, encouragement, prayers, and most of all LOVE to fight to recover. Safyre went home with Liz and her husband Mike and their 4 children. They took her in not thinking of the consequences that followed when you care for anyone that needs a tremendous amount of medical care.”

While all that Sa’fyre wants this holiday season is enough Christmas cards to fill her aunts tree (yesterday they received 27!) the family is need of a few more things over the holidays. After purchasing a home and finding out it was foreclosed, paying for medical bills, and the breadwinner of the household Mike lost his job, they have been under an incredible amount of financial stress.
