Allie Allen is a beautiful, happy Tennessee teenager with a heart of gold. She’s every parent’s dream of a daughter. Unfortunately bad things happen to good people. Allie was diagnosed with a a rare brain tumor called anaplastic ependymoma when she was only 14. Doctors and her family thought she had beaten it but it recently relapsed.
Even though she is currently going through radiation and chemotherapy, she still wanted to attend her high school’s homecoming dance. But because of the side effect of hair loss, had decided to shaved her head just a week prior. “On Saturday the majority of my hair was falling out and it was just torture to watch. Sunday morning I woke up with about 2 chunks of hair left and I decided to pull a Britney Spears 2007 and shave my head,” she wrote.

Not only is hair very precious to most girls, Allie was also self-conscious about her scalp. “That was very hard for me to do but that’s one thing I got over and am not stressing over it anymore. One of these pictures shows my scar now everyone can see it, but a scar is a tattoo with a better story, right?” How’s that for positivity?
To show his support, her childhood friend and homecoming date Brayden Carpenter showed up the night of the high school dance with a shaved head as well. According to the Facebook post shared by Allie’s mother, Debbi, he wanted to make Allie feel comfortable. What an awesome friend!

The Allen family is going through a lot. Debbi is fighting breast cancer as well as trying to be supportive of her sick daughter. If you’d like to help, the family have set up a GoFundMe page for the enormous medical bills piling up. If you’d like to donate, please do so here. They are only five thousand dollars shy of their goal, so help spread the word.
