American actor Alden Ehrenreich, also 26, grew up in Los Angeles and studied acting for a time at NYU. He was discovered by Steven Spielberg at a bar mitzvah, and subsequently landed roles on shows like Supernatural and CSI before making his feature film debut in Francis Ford Coppola’s Tetro.
Ehrenreich also played Cate Blanchett’s stepson in Blue Jasmine before his recent role of note in Hail, Caesar!, which many news sources are reporting helped his chances for the young Han Solo role.
The final actor reported to be up for the starring role in the Han Solo origin movie is 24-year-old Jack Reynor. This Irish actor has appeared in movies like Transformers: Age of Extinction, Glassland, What Richard Did, and Macbeth alongside Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard. He will also appear in 2017’s Jungle Book: Origins and Transformers 5.
According to reports, Disney met with over 2,500 actors while looking to find the younger version of Harrison Ford’s iconic space smuggler. Some sources are reporting that actor Emory Cohen (Brooklyn) is also being considered for the role, though most stories are omitting him as an option.
