Insert Foot Into Mouth
We’ve certainly all had moments when we’ve said things we didn’t really mean to say or didn’t realize would have such a negative impact, and we wish we could go back in time and stop it from happening. If anything is to be learned from these moments, it’s to think before you speak. Sometimes these incidents just embarrass us and become a funny story that someone tells over and over again. Other times, it leads to something more destructive or devastating. Even though it’s not fool-proof, that’s why texting is better than calling; you have more time to think about what you’re going to say to the other person.
These Redditors tell us all about their slip-ups and mishaps. Some are super funny and some are rather dark. What have you said that you wish you never did?

My first big meeting at my job with all the head honchos…and I had to leave to go to a doctors appointment. I was so nervous about walking out of the meeting, I actually said to my boss’s boss “good night, I’ll miss you!” My boss found it hysterical and told me I turned bright red as I shuffled out the door. At least he didn’t say “I love you.”

I was working backstage in a production of The Addams Family (the play.)
I asked the girl playing the old lady if the effects makeup they used to make her teeth look all old and gross had a funny taste.
They hadn’t put any makeup on her teeth. (RadioactiveSlothMan)
